HOP POLES
Landscaping with Kent Hop Poles
Here at the Land and Landscaping Company we have been using Kent hop poles to construct many types of beautiful features in our client's gardens.
We have a local source here in Kent where the hop poles have been used to grow Kent hops for hundreds of years. We take the old amazing chestnut wood and create new frameworks for climbers, gazebos, screens to separate beds, stand-alone features and more.
The Fixture Process
First we erect the uprights to a minimum depth of two feet and six inches which are concreted in. These are then left to go off. We then handpick the hop poles rolling them to form an amazing feature, showing off the knots and twists. We then cut angles to stiffen the structure it is all then fixed with eight inch screws. When the hop poles have been up for a few weeks they'll weather to a beautiful silver colour.
